Worms are parasitic worms in the human body. Some of them pose no serious health hazard, while others are quite dangerous. How can people get worms? Symptoms that indicate the presence of worms won't hurt everyone to know. And most importantly - how do you get these uninvited guests out of your body?
When Should Worms Be Suspected?
If an adult is worried about persistent nausea, headaches, and coughs, they'll start looking for anything, not worms. At the same time, it is they that often cause these symptoms to appear. If the parasites become entangled in the body, they begin to multiply actively, destroying tissues and releasing toxic substances during their life. There are hundreds or even thousands of worms in the human body. The body tolerates the presence of these "guests" for a period of time before the following symptoms of worms appear in adults:
- Frequent dry cough that cannot be cured by syrup and antibiotics;
- Poor appetite;
- allergic skin rashes, eczema, hives, acne lesions, boils, papillomas;
- Prolonged runny nose (no other signs of a cold);
- Intestinal problems--bloating, constipation;
- Decreased immunity, thus causing frequent acute respiratory infections;
- Teeth grinding (due to overworked nervous system);
- Weakness, irritability, nervousness, depression;
- joint pain;
- Swollen lymph nodes.
Certain species of worm "report" themselves to have specific symptoms. Consequently, ascariasis, pneumonia, diarrhea, and abdominal pain all occur.
Dizziness and abdominal pain can occur if you have a large tapeworm in your body. During defecation, the fragments of the worm are excreted with the feces. A person, who continues to eat in the usual way, is losing weight rapidly. Anemia develops later.
Bull tapeworm deposits in the liver causing pain in the right rib cage.
Pinworms cause severe itching in the anus. Dermatitis and inflammation can occur as a result of scratching the area.
Teeth Grinding and Other Symptoms of Worm Infections in Children
Children are most vulnerable to worms because they often don't follow personal hygiene rules and put everything in their mouths. The presence of parasites in a child can be suspected by the following signs:
- Intense salivation (including during sleep);
- hyperactive, restless behavior;
- Itching in the anus, so the child cannot sit still for a minute;
- increased cravings for sweets;
- dry hair and brittle nails;
- peeling eyelid skin;
- Unexplained anemia;
- Drowsiness and lethargy;
- Frequent colds easily.
In which organs can worms live?
In total there are as many as 250 species of worms. To survive, they choose various organs, such as kidneys or eyes. Certain types of parasites colonize the skin and muscles. They can even be found in blood. But most still live in the gastrointestinal tract.
Worms often colonize human livers. Symptoms indicative of organ "settling" do not appear immediately after infection. The first signs of invasion sometimes appear after 6 months. A person suddenly begins to lose weight or gain weight rapidly. Eczema or even psoriasis may occur.
Some worms stick to the liver, which interferes with its work and causes anemia. Others (like Echinococcus) erect a capsule of chitin around themselves, which increases in size and interferes with the organ's work. A person has yellowing skin, pain on the right side and digestive problems.
The characteristic symptoms of worms are present in the human liver - chronic fatigue and sleep disturbance from 2 am to 3 am, when the liver is working in enhanced mode.
Flukes that live in the liver can trigger asthma.
Worms - Combat: Medication
Although one of the important factors in diagnosing worms in humans is symptoms, treatment can only be done after receiving test results. In most cases, stool testing is prescribed. But this is an unreliable method: sometimes the parasite is only detected after 8-10 attempts. A more accurate diagnosis is the vegetative resonance test.
The easiest way to detect pinworms. To do this, scrape the skin above the anus and study it under a microscope.
After the parasite is identified, treatment begins. It happens in several stages:
- Prepare. It involves removing (or reducing) toxic substances - the result of the worm's life activity. For this, use activated carbon;
- Take deworming medicine. A good effect is the use of anthelmintic drugs with broad action;
- recover. The goals of the treatment are to strengthen the immune system (this is done with the help of echinacea), normalize the intestinal flora, and restore the liver.
Traditional Medicine Against Worms
If you decide to use folk remedies to remove worms from your body, symptoms must also be considered. If there are signs of pinworm infection, a garlic, tansy, or wormwood infusion is recommended.
A popular way to get rid of worms is milk with garlic. It can be drunk with bread and garlic. This composition is suitable for enema. For this, in 1 tablespoon. Boil a large head of garlic in milk. Then cool, filter and enema with this solution. This procedure is repeated daily for a week.
Folk healers are advised to drink 1 tablespoon for a month on an empty stomach. l. Garlic water. You need to take 6-8 cloves of garlic, mash and mix with 1 tablespoon. cold water. Strain solution. You can use this water for micro-irrigation.
Feline flukes can be transmitted from cats. The worm is believed to be afraid of grated apples mixed with carrots and tar. Proportion of the pharmaceutical composition: 1 tsp. carrot apple mixture and 1 drop of tar. Eat on an empty stomach.
To get rid of tapeworms, 1 tablespoon in the morning (on an empty stomach) is enough. water, in which dissolve 1 tsp. Salt.
If the type of parasite is unknown, but there are signs of worms in the human body (the symptoms of different parasitic infections may not vary much), then a composition can be prepared that will destroy almost all worms. It should mix crushed wormwood, centaur, cumin, pumpkin seeds (peeled) in equal proportions. Add 2 parts clove powder, 4 parts pre-roasted flax seeds, tansy powder to the ingredients listed. Grind everything in a coffee grinder and pour into a glass container.
Take such a combination according to the plan. 1 day you need to eat 1 teaspoon. Collect 30 minutes before breakfast, drink cold water and add honey. For 2 days, the composition is taken in the morning and before lunch. Then, from 3 to 7 days, you should eat 1 teaspoon. Herbal Blend 2 times a day - before lunch and before bed
Most anthelmintics and medicinal plants are highly toxic. Therefore, it is extremely unreasonable to use them for treatment without consulting a doctor. Do not self-medicate if the patient is pregnant or a child.
How does the infection happen?
The reason why worms appear depends largely on age. In children, they have been linked to violations of personal hygiene rules, using unwashed vegetables. Adult worms are often infected with water. Also, there is no need to drink it - just wash the dishes with river water. Worms can enter the human body when eating meat and fish dishes without the necessary heat treatment. A common route of infection is the consumption of light salt and raw fish.
If you don't wash your hands after outdoor recreation or after gardening and earthmoving, you could become a worm host. Symptoms of adult worms can also appear after communication with an infected person (through dust, air, and hygiene products).
Those who work in livestock farms and meat and fish processing shops are at high risk.
How to avoid worms?
Following personal hygiene rules is the best way to prevent worms from harming your health. Wash your hands before preparing food, sitting at the table and after using the toilet. Vegetables, fruits and vegetables must be poured with boiling water and then rinsed with running water.
Fry or boil meat and fish for extended periods of time, and use separate boards for cutting. It is best to stop eating dried or raw fish. You shouldn't drink water from the tap, let alone from the river.
Some people (especially owners of quadruped pets) are afraid to see the symptoms of the presence of worms, feed their children and drink the appropriate medication themselves. Such advice can be heard from a doctor. However, it's much safer to monitor your hygiene closely - so you won't be afraid of any worms!
